A coastal region with unparalleled beauty is home to many species of animals. It is dotted with coral reefs and unspoilt white sandy beaches. It has remained inaccessible to tourists due to poor connectivity and lack of accommodation. A company has spotted the opportunity and is planning to develop a luxury resort with helicopter service to the nearest major city airport. Environmentalists are upset that this would lead to the region becoming crowded and polluted like any other major beach resorts.

Which one of the following statements can be logically inferred from the information given in the above paragraph?

• A. The culture and tradition of the local people will be influenced by the tourists.
• B. The region will become crowded and polluted due to tourism.
• C. The coral reefs are on the decline and could soon vanish.
• D. Helicopter connectivity would lead to an increase in tourists coming to the region.

      There is no information about the culture and tradition of local people.

      So, this option is discarded.

      This is already written in the paragraph itself.

      So, this option is discarded.

      There is no information about declination of the coral reefs.

      So, this option is discarded.

(D) Helicopter connectivity would lead to an increase in tourists coming to the region.

      This option can be logically inferred from the above paragraph

So, this is the answer D)

Shouldn’t both Option B and D be correct?

Option B is more true as its even mentioned in the paragraph. 

Option D is slightly true. It is said resorts + helicopters = more tourists. Not  only helicopters.

No, D is right.

D is the answer as the passage says about poor connectivity for less tourists. It also says that helicopter connectivity worries the environmentalists for increased crowd.

A and C are not the answer as these are not said any where in the given passage.

B is not the answer as there is only a plan for resort and it is still not set up. Also, region becoming crowded is only a speculation -- cannot use the word 'will'.

No man you are wrong in your 1st line itself. Poor connectivity "AND" poor accomodation is the reason for less tourists.

Option "B" tells nothing about resorts or helicopter. It says pollution and crowd will increase due to "TOURISM".

And tourism will start whenever accomodation "AND" Connectivity "BOTH" are built

P.S. You may say option B is wrong because its directly given in the last line of paragraph. But on the otherhand option D is not 100% correct. So we have to go for the next best option....

I strongly believe it is b, both options b and d are looking correct, if you say d is correct that means more tourists will arrive, indirectly you are saying pollution and crowd will be more as rightly justified in the given paragraph
