E-plane mean $\theta$-plane or vertical plane
$E \propto \sin \theta$ in Hertzian dipole
$E_{\max }$ when $\theta=90^{\circ}$
$E_{\text {min }}$ when $\theta=0^{\circ}$
$E$ has half power of maximum when $\theta=45^{\circ}$ and
$135^{\circ} $ HPBW in $\theta$ side $=135^{\circ}-45^{\circ}=90^{\circ}$
