Consider a linear array of two half-wave dipoles $\mathrm{A}$ and $\text{B}$ as shown in the figure is. The dipoles are $\frac{\lambda}{4}$ apart and are excited in such a way that the current on element $\mathrm{B}$ legs that on element $\mathrm{A}$ by $90^{\circ}$ in phase.

  1. Obtain the expression for the radiation pattern for $\mathrm{E}_{0}$ in the $\text{X Y}$ plane (i.e., $\theta=90^{\circ}$ )
  2. Sketch the radiation pattern obtained in $(a).$
