Question

The bar graph shows the frequency of the number of wickets taken in a match by a bowler in her career. For example, in $17$ of her matches, the bowler has taken $5$ wickets each. The median number of wickets taken by the bowler in a match is _______________ (rounded off to one decimal place).

Bar graph : In first 5matches she took 0witch in each match , next 7 matches she took 1wicket each match...

i. e,  1st match -->0wicket

2nd match --->0wicket

..

6th match --->1wicket

7th match -->1wicket

…

13th match --->2wicket

14th match --->2wicket ..and so on

Now,  total number of matches =5+7+8+25+20+17+8+4+3+2+1=100

Median =wicket in 100/2th match +100+1/2th match......

50th +51th match wickets

In,  50th match ---->4wickets

51th match ---->4wickets

So, median =4+4/2=4
